2024 Psalm 16:5 “O LORD, You are the portion
of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot” (NKJV).Verse 5. - The Lord is the Portion of mine
inheritance. God had said to Aaron, when he gave him no special inheritance in
Canaan, "I am thy Part and thine Inherit-ante among the children of
Israel" (Numbers 18:20).
David claims the same privilege. God is his "Portion," and he needs
no other. And of my cup. A man's "cup" is, in Scripture, his lot
or condition in life (Psalm 11:6; Psalm 23:5) - that which is given him to drink.
David will have God only for his cup. Thou maintainest my lot; i.e. thou
makest it firm and sure (comp. Psalm 30:6, "In my prosperity I said, I
shall never be moved" (Pulpit Commentary). JANUARY 2023 In the Knowing Jesus Study Bible (NIV), edited by Edward Hindson and Edward Dobson talk about eight means of growth for the Christian life.To grow in character: (1) Faith--trusting faith: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" (Heb 11:1).
(2) Goodness--demonstrating virtue: "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)" (Eph 5:8-9).
(3) Knowledge--developing understanding and insight: "But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's
triumphal procession and uses us to spread the fragrance of the knowledge of
him everywhere" (2 Cor 2:14).
(4) Self-control--holding oneself in check: "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith" (1 Pet 5:8-9). (5) Perseverance-persisting: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily
entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us" (Heb 12:1). (6) Godliness--surrendering completely to God:"For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all
things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come" (1Tim 4:8). (7) Kindness--affection for others: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe
yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience" (Col 3:12). (8) Love--deep-seated concern for the interests of God and others:"Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God" (Eph 5:2).

Galatians 5:22-23, “But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law”
(NASB).
"If it be our care to act under the guidance and power of the blessed
Spirit, though we may not be freed from the stirrings and oppositions of the
corrupt nature which remains in us, it shall not have dominion over us.
Believers are engaged in a conflict, in which they earnestly desire that grace
may obtain full and speedy victory. And those who desire thus to give
themselves up to be led by the Holy Spirit, are not under the law as a covenant
of works, nor exposed to its awful curse. Their hatred of sin, and desires
after holiness, show that they have a part in the salvation of the gospel. The
works of the flesh are many and manifest. And these sins will shut men out of
heaven. Yet what numbers, calling themselves Christians, live in these, and say
they hope for heaven! The fruits of the Spirit, or of the renewed nature, which
we are to do, are named. And as the apostle had chiefly named works of the
flesh, not only hurtful to men themselves, but tending to make them so to one
another, so here he chiefly notices the fruits of the Spirit, which tend to
make Christians agreeable one to another, as well as to make them happy. The
fruits of the Spirit plainly show, that such are led by the Spirit. By
describing the works of the flesh and fruits of the Spirit, we are told what to
avoid and oppose, and what we are to cherish and cultivate; and this is the
sincere care and endeavour of all real Christians. Sin does not now reign in
their mortal bodies, so that they obey it, Ro 6:12, for they seek to destroy
it. Christ never will own those who yield themselves up to be the servants of
sin. And it is not enough that we cease to do evil, but we must learn to do
well. Our conversation will always be answerable to the principle which guides
and governs us, Ro 8:5. We must set ourselves in earnest to mortify the deeds
of the body, and to walk in newness of life. Not being desirous of vain-glory,
or unduly wishing for the esteem and applause of men, not provoking or envying one
another, but seeking to bring forth more abundantly those good fruits, which
are, through Jesus Christ, to the praise and glory of God."

Ezekiel 48 Division of the Land
1“Now these are the names of the tribes: from
the northern extremity, beside the way of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath, as far as
Hazar-enan at the border of Damascus, toward the north beside Hamath,
running from east to west, Dan, one portion.2“Beside the border of Dan, from the east
side to the west side, Asher, one portion.3“Beside the border of Asher, from the east
side to the west side, Naphtali, one portion.4“Beside the border of Naphtali, from the
east side to the west side, Manasseh, one portion.5“Beside the border of Manasseh, from the
east side to the west side, Ephraim, one portion.6“Beside the border of Ephraim, from the east
side to the west side, Reuben, one portion.7“Beside the border of Reuben, from the east
side to the west side, Judah, one portion.8“And beside the border of Judah, from the
east side to the west side, shall be the allotment which you shall set apart,
25,000 cubits in width, and in length like one of the portions, from the
east side to the west side; and the sanctuary shall be in the middle of it. 9“The allotment that you shall set apart to
the LORD shall
be 25,000 cubits in length and 10,000 in width.
Portion for the Priests
10“The holy allotment shall be for these, namely
for the priests, toward the north 25,000 cubits in length, toward the
west 10,000 in width, toward the east 10,000 in width, and toward the south
25,000 in length; and the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in its midst. 11“It shall be for the priests who are
sanctified of the sons of Zadok, who have kept My charge, who did not go astray
when the sons of Israel went astray as the Levites went astray. 12“It shall be an allotment to them from the
allotment of the land, a most holy place, by the border of the Levites. 13“Alongside the border of the priests the
Levites shall have 25,000 cubits in length and 10,000 in width.
The whole length shall be 25,000 cubits and the width 10,000. 14“Moreover, they shall not sell or exchange
any of it, or alienate this choice portion of land; for it is holy to
the LORD.
15“The remainder, 5,000 cubits in
width and 25,000 in length, shall be for common use for the city, for dwellings
and for open spaces; and the city shall be in its midst. 16“These shall be its measurements:
the north side 4,500 cubits, the south side 4,500 cubits, the
east side 4,500 cubits, and the west side 4,500 cubits.17“The city shall have open spaces: on the
north 250 cubits, on the south 250 cubits, on the east 250 cubits,
and on the west 250 cubits.18“The remainder of the length alongside the
holy allotment shall be 10,000 cubits toward the east and 10,000 toward
the west; and it shall be alongside the holy allotment. And its produce shall
be food for the workers of the city. 19“The workers of the city, out of all the
tribes of Israel, shall cultivate it. 20“The whole allotment shall be 25,000
by 25,000 cubits; you shall set apart the holy allotment, a square, with
the property of the city.
Portion for the Prince
21“The remainder shall be for the
prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy allotment and of the
property of the city; in front of the 25,000 cubits of the allotment
toward the east border and westward in front of the 25,000 toward the west
border, alongside the portions, it shall be for the prince. And the holy
allotment and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the middle of it. 22“Exclusive of the property of the Levites
and the property of the city, which are in the middle of that which
belongs to the prince, everything between the border of Judah and the
border of Benjamin shall be for the prince.
Portion for Other Tribes
23“As for the rest of the tribes: from the
east side to the west side, Benjamin, one portion.24“Beside the border of Benjamin, from the
east side to the west side, Simeon, one portion.25“Beside the border of Simeon, from the east
side to the west side, Issachar, one portion.26“Beside the border of Issachar, from the
east side to the west side, Zebulun, one portion.27“Beside the border of Zebulun, from the
east side to the west side, Gad, one portion.28“And beside the border of Gad, at the south
side toward the south, the border shall be from Tamar to the waters of
Meribath-kadesh, to the brook of Egypt, to the Great Sea. 29“This is the land which you shall divide by
lot to the tribes of Israel for an inheritance, and these are their several
portions,” declares the Lord GOD.
The City Gates
30“These are the exits of the city: on the
north side, 4,500 cubits by measurement, 31shall be the gates of the city, named for
the tribes of Israel, three gates toward the north: the gate of Reuben, one;
the gate of Judah, one; the gate of Levi, one. 32“On the east side, 4,500 cubits, shall
be three gates: the gate of Joseph, one; the gate of Benjamin, one; the gate of
Dan, one. 33“On the south side, 4,500 cubits by
measurement, shall be three gates: the gate of Simeon, one; the gate of
Issachar, one; the gate of Zebulun, one. 34“On the west side, 4,500 cubits, shall
be three gates: the gate of Gad, one; the gate of Asher, one; the gate of
Naphtali, one. 35“The city shall be 18,000 cubits
round about; and the name of the city from that day shall be,
‘The LORD is
there.’”
Prayer is the
appointed means for obtaining what we need. Pray; pray often; make a business
of prayer, and be serious and earnest in it. Ask, as a beggar asks alms. Ask,
as a traveller asks the way. Seek, as for a thing of value that we have lost;
or as the merchantman that seeks goodly pearls. Knock, as he that desires to
enter into the house knocks at the door. Sin has shut and barred the door
against us; by prayer we knock. Whatever you pray for, according to the
promise, shall be given you, if God see it fit for you, and what would you have
more? This is made to apply to all that pray aright; every one that asketh
receiveth, whether Jew or Gentile, young or old, rich or poor, high or low,
master or servant, learned or unlearned, all are alike welcome to the throne of
grace, if they come in faith. It is explained by a comparison taken from
earthly parents, and their readiness to give their children what they ask.
Parents are often foolishly fond, but God is all-wise; he knows what we need,
what we desire, and what is fit for us. Let us never suppose our heavenly
Father would bid us pray, and then refuse to hear, or give us what would be
hurtful.
Psalm 34: 4
I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from
all my fears.
Psalm 37: 4
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires
of your heart.
Isaiah 30: 19
People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no

Matthew 18: 19
"Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth

Mark 11: 24

Luke 11: 9
"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek
and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
John 14: 13
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the
Father may be glorified in the Son.
John15: 7
f you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever
you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 15: 16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so
that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last--and so that whatever
you ask in my name the Father will give you.
Geneva Study Bible
for John 15: 16
5} Ye {c} have not chosen me, but I
have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and
that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the
Father in my name, he may give it you.(5) Christ is the author and
preserver of the ministry of the gospel, even to the end of the world, but the
ministers have above all things need of prayer and brotherly love.(c) These words plainly teach us that
our salvation comes only from the favour and gracious goodness of the
everlasting God towards us, and of nothing that we do or can deserve.
DEVOTIONS FOR APRIL 2021
BIBLICAL FOUNDATION BEGINS WITH GOD
The Biblical foundation begins with a relationship with God. Building
right relationships with husbands and wives, children and all others fulfills
the Biblical commandment given in Matthew 22: 37-39. Adam and Eve was the first family
relationship God created in Genesis 2: 24. However, in Gen. 3: 15 is where the first
family fell. This was the beginning from which all flowed down through the
ages. Eph. 5: 1-21 lays out a relationship with God of how one is to live, to
know His will. But one knows that sin will hinder and separate any relationship
with God, and He will not hear our prayers (Isaiah 59: 2 and Psalm 66: 18).
There is hope, one can come to God and confess our sins. He will cleanse us to
a right standing relationship with Him (1 John 1: 9).
In Ephesians 5: 22-33 deals with husbands and wives; two
shall become one, yet they we are grafted in as children in the family of God. Furthermore,
as adopted children in this marriage union, they are also joint heirs in Christ
(1 Peter 3: 7). A Biblical triangle of marriage begins with a three cord strand
(Ecc. 4: 12) with husbands and wives submitting to God. One ongoing gender role
battle is about submission, but God is at the top of where this begins. A good
standing rule is one must submit and come under authority to God first before
he or she can be in a role of authority.
The family is the Biblical framework from which all
submit to Christ as head of the household first (1 Cor. 11: 3). Additionally,
the Christian household is the battlefield and needs to have armor from evil. Our
households are places of armor from which we are filled with the Holy Spirit to
have power to fight any enemy. This armor spoken in Ephesians 6: 10-18 are the
foundations to equip the Christian family for the ongoing battlefield of
conflict (“against the devils schemes, NIV”) in the home.
Moreover, in Ephesians 6: 1-4 deals with right
relationships between parents and the children. In verses 2 and 3 say there is
a commandment with a promise that if one honors their father and mother their
life will be blessed. Families have ongoing problems to deal with life
situations. It will always remain a battle until one does what the Lord wants
and that is to train the children in the way of the Lord (Proverbs 22: 6). One
forgets after Christ as head of the household, man that takes his position as
head ought to be trained in the Lord first. Over the years, family discipleship
to train males to be God-fearing men has lacked this important fact. This lack
gave way to women to step up to run the home and teach the children. Going back
in history many God-fearing women stepped up to take man’s place such as,
Deborah, Phoebe, and Huldah. Finally, as parents they are both to train the
children and raise them up in reverence for the Lord (Psalm 19: 9). It states
in 1Timothy 5: 8, “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those
of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel” (KJV).
Most people change this verse to say “man,” but it does not say this. It states
any, which could mean any man or any woman.
Christian parents need to reflect back and give thanks
on what the Lord has done to give God His glory and honor due to Him first. As
a family of God, raising Godly children to be part of a community of believers,
they will be equipped with armor (Eph. 6: 11) to handle the prince of darkness
that comes against them. If a family does not have a foundational relationship
with God, the family will have problems to breakdown that block the Holy Spirit
from having its perfect work. In conclusion, as children of God, it is all
summed up in Ephesian 2: 19-20, “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and
aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household”
(NIV) 20, “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ
Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone” (NIV). This is what is called a
Biblical foundation.

"My Hope is Built on Nothing
Less"
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874
1. My hope is built
on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
2. When darkness
veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
3. His oath, His
covenant, and blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
4. When He shall come
with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

THE FIRST AND THE
LAST
There is a contrast between the first three chapters of Genesis
and the last three chapters of Revelation. In Genesis, there is the Fall of man
in chapter 3, but in Revelation chapter 21 and 22 is like the new Genesis,
without the Fall.
Revelation 22: 13“I am the Alpha and
the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
1. Genesis 1: 1, “In
the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Revelation 21: 1,
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first
earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
2. Genesis 1: 5, “God
called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night."
And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.”
Revelation 21: 25,
“On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.”
3. Genesis 2: 17, “but
you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you
eat of it you will surely die.”
Revelation 21: 4,
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or
mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
4. Genesis 3: 1, “Now
the serpent was more crafty (deceiving) than any of the wild animals the LORD
God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat
from any tree in the garden'?”
Revelation 20: 10,
“And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,
where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented
day and night for ever and ever.”
5. Genesis 3: 13, “Then
the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The
woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
Revelation 20: 10,
“And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,
where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented
day and night for ever and ever.”
6. Genesis 3: 16, “To
the woman he said, “I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with
pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and
he will rule over you.”
Revelation 21: 4,
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or
mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
7. Genesis 3: 17, “ To
Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree
about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' “Cursed is the ground
because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your
life.”
Revelation 22: 3,
“No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be
in the city, and his servants will serve him.”
8. Genesis 3: 24, “After
he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim
and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of
life.”
Revelation 22: 4,
“They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.”
The first heaven and
first earth will pass away and be replaced by the “Holy City, the New Jerusalem.”
Revelation 21: 1, “Then
I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth
had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.”
Revelation 21: 2, “I
saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”
Revelation 21: 3, “And
I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is
with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself
will be with them and be their God.”
DECEMBER 2020
The Birth of Jesus
Foretold
26. In the sixth month, God
sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,
27.
to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David.
The virgin’s name was Mary.
28. The angel
went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with
you.”
29. Mary was greatly troubled
at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
30. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid,
Mary, you have found favor with God.
31. You
will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name
Jesus.
32. He will be great and will be
called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his
father David,
33. and he will reign over the
house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.”
34. “How will this be,” Mary
asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
35. The angel answered, “The
Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow
you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
36. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a
child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
37. For nothing is impossible with God.”
38. “I am the Lord’s servant,”
Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her.
The Birth of Jesus
1. In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a
census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
2.
(This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of
Syria.)
3. And everyone went to his own town
to register.
4. So Joseph also went up from
the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David,
because he belonged to the house and line of David.
5.
He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and
was expecting a child.
6. While they were
there, the time came for the baby to be born,
7.
and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and
placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
The Shepherds and the
Angels
8. And there were shepherds
living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
9. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the
glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
10. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.
I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
11. Today in the town of David a Savior has been
born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
12. This
will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a
manger.”
CLOSERWALK DEVOTIONS FOR NOVEMBER 2020
FOR HIS SERVICE
First, we have to cleanse our mind, so that we can be of
service to God, all for His glory. Go to God and repent from your sins. This
cleansing or sanctification will help prepare us to hear from God and then, we
can be of service to Him. It takes a pure heart to see God. Your life will no
longer be the same when you have encountered God. Just like Isaiah, when the
angel came to him with a burning coal and cleansed his sin, we have to ask God
to forgive us of our sin. It states in Isaiah
6:8, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who
will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!” Now that
Isaiah was cleansed, he was aware of God’s heavenly plans and not his earthly plan
and gave his life for His service. If we do not have a pure heart (only God can
purify our heart) it will hinder our relationship with God, and we will be of
no use to Him.
God the Master planner gave us life, and as children of God eternal life.

ISAIAH 61 NEW
INTERNATIONAL VERSION The Year of the Lord’s Favor
1. The
Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed
me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2. to
proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3. and
provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
4. They
will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
5. Aliens
will shepherd your flocks;
foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
6. And
you will be called priests of the Lord,
you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
and in their riches you will boast.
7. Instead
of their shame
my people will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
they will rejoice in their inheritance;
and so they will inherit a double portion in their land,
and everlasting joy will be theirs.
8. “For
I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery and iniquity.
In my faithfulness I will reward them
and make an everlasting covenant with them.
9. Their
descendants will be known among the nations
and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
that they are a people the Lord
has blessed.”
10. I
delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11. For as
the soil makes the sprout come up
and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make
righteousness and praise
spring up before all nations.
ISAIAH 62
Zion’s New Name
1. For
Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,
till her righteousness shines out like the dawn,
her salvation like a blazing torch.
2. The
nations will see your righteousness,
and all kings your glory;
you will be called by a new name
that the mouth of the Lord will
bestow.
3. You
will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand,
a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4. No
longer will they call you Deserted,
or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah,
and your land Beulah;
for the Lord will take delight
in you,
and your land will be married.
5. As
a young man marries a maiden,
so will your sons
marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
so will your God rejoice over you.
6. I
have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
give yourselves no rest,
7. and
give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her the praise of the earth.
8. The
Lord has sworn by his right hand
and by his mighty arm:
“Never again will I give your grain
as food for your enemies,
and never again will foreigners drink the new wine
for which you have toiled;
9. but
those who harvest it will eat it
and praise the Lord,
and those who gather the grapes will drink it
in the courts of my sanctuary.”
10. Pass
through, pass through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people.
Build up, build up the highway!
Remove the stones.
Raise a banner for the nations.
11. The Lord has made proclamation
to the ends of the earth:
“Say to the Daughter of Zion,
‘See, your Savior comes!
See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him.’”
12. They
will be called the Holy People,
the Redeemed of the Lord;
and you will be called Sought After,
the City No Longer Deserted.

DEUTERONOMY 1-13
IT’S TIME TO GET OUT AND GO INTO THE PROMISED LAND; WE HAVE GONE

schooling, learning from someone else,

23. They are new every

24. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
The Command to Leave
Horeb
1. These
are the words Moses spoke to all Israel in the desert east of the Jordan—that
is, in the Arabah—opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth and
Dizahab.
2. (It
takes eleven days to go from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea by the Mount Seir road.)
3. In
the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses proclaimed to
the Israelites all that the Lord had commanded
him concerning them.
4. This
was after he had defeated Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon,
and at Edrei had defeated Og king of Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth.
5. East
of the Jordan in the territory of Moab, Moses began to expound this law,
saying:
6. The
Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have
stayed long enough at this mountain.
7. Break
camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the
neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills,
in the Negev and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon,
as far as the great river, the Euphrates.
8. See,
I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land that the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.”
The Appointment of Leaders
9. At
that time I said to you, “You are too heavy a burden for me to carry alone.
10. The Lord your God has increased your numbers so that
today you are as many as the stars in the sky.
11. May the
Lord, the God of your fathers, increase you a
thousand times and bless you as he has promised!

shall I be afraid?

His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness or in holy array.
3. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of
glory thunders; the Lord is upon many (great waters).
DAILY DEVOTION FOR NOVEMBER 2010
ISAIAH 60 AND 61
ISAIAH 60 The Glory of Zion
1.
Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises
upon you.
2.
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
3.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
4.
“Lift up your eyes and look about you:
All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar,
and your daughters are carried on the arm.
5.
Then you will look and be radiant,
your heart will throb and swell with joy;
the wealth on the seas will be brought to you,
to you the riches of the nations will come.
6.
Herds of camels will cover your land,
young camels of Midian and Ephah.
And all from Sheba will come,
bearing gold and incense
and proclaiming the praise of the Lord.
7.
All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you,
the rams of Nebaioth will serve you;
they will be accepted as offerings on my altar,
and I will adorn my glorious temple.
8.
“Who are these that fly along like clouds,
like doves to their nests?
9.
Surely the islands look to me;
in the lead are the ships of Tarshish, a
bringing your sons from afar,
with their silver and gold,
to the honor of the Lord your
God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendor.
10. “Foreigners
will rebuild your walls,
and their kings will serve you.
Though in anger I struck you,
in favor I will show you compassion.
11. Your
gates will always stand open,
they will never be shut, day or night,
so that men may bring you the wealth of the nations—
their kings led in triumphal procession.
12. For
the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish;
it will be utterly ruined.
13. “The
glory of Lebanon will come to you,
the pine, the fir and the cypress together,
to adorn the place of my sanctuary;
and I will glorify the place of my feet.
14. The
sons of your oppressors will come bowing before you;
all who despise you will bow down at your feet
and will call you the City of the Lord,
Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
15. “Although
you have been forsaken and hated,
with no one traveling through,
I will make you the everlasting pride
and the joy of all generations.
16. You
will drink the milk of nations
and be nursed at royal breasts.
Then you will know that I, the Lord,
am your Savior,
your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
17. Instead
of bronze I will bring you gold,
and silver in place of iron.
Instead of wood I will bring you bronze,
and iron in place of stones.
I will make peace your governor
and righteousness your ruler.
18. No
longer will violence be heard in your land,
nor ruin or destruction within your borders,
but you will call your walls Salvation
and your gates Praise.
19. The
sun will no more be your light by day,
nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,
for the Lord will be your
everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
20. Your
sun will never set again,
and your moon will wane no more;
the Lord will be your
everlasting light,
and your days of sorrow will end.
21. Then
will all your people be righteous
and they will possess the land forever.
They are the shoot I have planted,
the work of my hands,
for the display of my splendor.
22. The
least of you will become a thousand,
the smallest a mighty nation.
I am the Lord;
in its time I will do this swiftly.”
ISAIAH 61 The Year of the Lord’s Favor
1.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord
is on me,
because the Lord has anointed
me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2.
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s
favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3.
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
4.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
5.
Aliens will shepherd your flocks;
foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
6.
And you will be called priests of the Lord,
you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
and in their riches you will boast.
7.
Instead of their shame
my people will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
they will rejoice in their inheritance;
and so they will inherit a double portion in their land,
and everlasting joy will be theirs.
8.
“For I, the Lord, love
justice;
I hate robbery and iniquity.
In my faithfulness I will reward them
and make an everlasting covenant with them.
9.
Their descendants will be known among the nations
and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
that they are a people the Lord
has blessed.”
10. I
delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11. For
as the soil makes the sprout come up
and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make
righteousness and praise
spring up before all nations.

THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT----LOVE GOD THE SECOND GREATEST-----------LOVE OTHERS
Life is all about love. God is love (1 John
4:16). We need to focus on Jesus alone (Matt.17:8). To make him the
center of our attention and love, then we are gradually and
continuously changed into the likeness of Christ. It is in loving we
are most like him. God wants us to learn how to love, but we need to
receive his love first. 1 Corth. 2: 12 says,” Now we have received, not
the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might
know the things that are freely given to us of God”. Romans 8: 27 say “
and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the
spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the
will of God”. "And we know that all things work together for good to
them that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose", as in Romans 8: 28. "Wherefore receive ye one to another, as
Christ also received us to the glory of God", as in Romans 15: 7. Love
should be our top priority, our greatest aim. In 2 John 6, the Bible
says “and this is love, that we walk after his commandments”. Romans
13: 8 says, “Owe no man anything, but to love another: for he that
loveth another hath fulfilled the law”. GOD will evaluate us on our
love. As Mathew 25: 40 says, “and the King shall answer and say unto
them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of
the least of my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. "Let brotherly love
continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some
have entertained angels unawares", as say Hebrews 13:1-2. Also don’t
judge one another as Romans 14: 13 says,"And be ye kind one to another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you". "And if possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men", says Romans 12: 18 "Now
the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in believing, that ye may
be bound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost" (SPIRIT) as says
Romans 15: 13 . Now knowing all this, we all should wake every morning spend time loving GOD,then loving others-because that’s what life is about.

"Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given

"From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great

"Only be strong and very courageous ; be careful

"This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but

"Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall remain in the land which

The Birth of
Jesus Christ
18 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother
Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she
was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
19 Because
Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public
disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had
considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,
"Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife,
because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 She will give
birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins."
22 All this
took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23 "The virgin
will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him
Immanuel"Luke 4:21).

Palm Sunday Luke 19: 36-38
And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38. Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
Monday Luke 19: 47, 48 47. And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, 48. And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
Tuesday Isaiah 53: 4, 5 4. Surely he hath borne our grief’s, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Wednesday Luke 22; 1-6 1. Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. 2. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people. 3. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. 4. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. 5. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. 6. And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
Thursday: Luke 22: 14-20 14. And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. 5. And he said unto them, with desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer: 16. For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God . 17. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, take this, and divide it among yourselves: 18. For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 19. And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, this cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Friday: John 19: 28-30 28. After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 29. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. 30. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Saturday Isaiah 53:12 12. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Sunday Mark 16: 5,6 5. And entering into the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. 6. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is Risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

TREE of LIFE
Stood also in the midst of the garden of Eden ( Genesis 2:9; 3:22
). Some writers have advanced the opinion that this tree had some
secret virtue, which was fitted to preserve life. Probably the lesson
conveyed was that life was to be sought by man, not in himself or in
his own power, but from without, from Him who is emphatically the Life
( John 1:4 ; 14:6 ). Wisdom is compared to the tree of life ( Proverbs 3:18 ). The "tree of life" spoken of in the Book of Revelation ( Revelation 2:7; Revelation 22:2Revelation 22:14 ) is an emblem of the joys of the celestial paradise.
Proverbs 3:18
She [is] a tree of life Or "lives"; so Christ is called, ( Revelation 2:7 ) ( Revelation 22:2Revelation 22:14 ); in allusion to the tree of life in the garden of Eden, ( Genesis 2:9
) ; he being the author of life, natural, spiritual, and eternal; which
souls may come at, and pluck and eat of the fruit which is upon him in
great plenty and variety, even all the blessings of grace and glory; to them that lay hold upon her; which is expressive of an act of faith on Christ, ( Hebrews 6:18
); faith lays hold on the person of Christ as a Saviour, and will have
him and no other; it comes to the blood of Christ, and deals with it
for pardon and purification; it lays hold on his skirt, who is a Jew,
on the robe of his righteousness, and puts it on; it lays hold on his
strength, and goes forth in it, in the exercise of grace and discharge
of duty; it lays hold on his covenant, the blessings and promises of
it, and takes them to itself: and this act supposes danger without him,
safety in him, a view of suitable provisions for food and clothing with
him; some strength of grace, and some degree of resolution; also
condescension on Christ's part to suffer himself to be handled by them;
and likewise that he first took hold on them and brought them out of a
state of nature to himself: great encouragement there is for sensible
sinners to lay hold on Christ; he is set before them in the Gospel to
be laid hold on; he never discourages any from so doing, nor casts out
any that come to him; he is able to bear the stress of their salvation
they lay upon him; multitudes of lost sinners have been saved by him:
and he is a tree of life, as the text says, to such persons; they have
spiritual life, and the support and comfort of it, from him now, and
may expect everlasting life from him hereafter; and happy [is everyone] that retaineth her; or "holds her fast"; see ( Song of Solomon 3:4 ) ( Genesis 32:26
); as such may be said to do who constantly apply to him for fresh
communications of grace; who walk on in him as they have received him,
and hold fast the profession of their faith in him. The phrase is
expressive of great affection to him, and strong faith in him; faith
keeps its hold of Christ through great darkness and many difficulties;
oftentimes the soul walks in darkness, and yet stays itself on Christ,
and, Abraham-like, believes in hope against hope. Faith is sometimes
very low, and yet lets not go its hold; it fails not, through the
prevalent intercession of Christ; it cannot so let go its hold as that
there is a parting; a partial departing there may be, but not a total
one: however, it is sometimes very difficult for faith to keep fast
hold of the Redeemer; it is for the honour and comfort of believers so
to do; and it is their mercy that interest in Christ, and salvation by
him, do not depend on acts of faith; for, though "we believe not, [yet]
he abides faithful", ( 2 Timothy 2:13
); nevertheless happy are they that retain him, or are steadfast in
their faith on him; they have much communion with him now, and shall
live with him for evermore hereafter.
REVELATION of JOHN Chapter 22:1-2
1, 2. And he shewed me a pure river of water of life.
A symbol of the eternal life flowing from the Son of God as a fountain,
which has been bestowed upon all who dwell in the heavenly city. Bright as crystal. Radiant with glory. The shining light which comes from the river shows the glory of the heavenly life. Proceeding. The fountain of this life is the throne of God and it has been bestowed by the Son. 2. In the midst of the street of it.
In the Revision this is attached to the preceding verse . It is the
river of life that runs in the street. On each side of the river,
watered by it, stands the tree of life . . . yielding its fruit every month. The thought is that it is always fruitful, not limited to certain seasons of fruit bearing. The leaves of the tree were for the healing, etc.
We are not to conclude that there were diseases to be healed, but that
in the city were the means which banished disease and death. The
student cannot fail to trace the correspondence with the home of the
sinless race in Eden. There was there "a river that went out of Eden to
water the garden." Here there is a river, "bright as crystal,
proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb." There was a tree
of life in Paradise. In the New Jerusalem, on either side of the river
stands the tree of life bearing twelve manner of fruits, or rather
fruit twelve times a year, every month. The river and the tree are
symbols of the life bestowed by the grace of God. The river flows from
the throne of God and the Lamb; from the fountain whence life and
immortality come. The tree yields its fruit at all times, so that the
supply never fails. Everything about the tree is healthful. Even the
leaves are for the healing of the nations. There is a book, a river and
a tree of life. Christ is the life, and all refer in some way to
Christ. Trees and rivers presented most attractive features in an
oriental city, and are beautiful emblems of the full supplies of life,
grace and bliss that shall pervade the heavenly city.
Luke 23:31 For if they do these things in a green tree Or
it may be rendered impersonally, "if these things are done in a green
tree"; by which is meant the Lord Jesus Christ, who is often compared
to a tree, as to a green fir tree, an apple tree, a vine, and is called
the tree of life: and may be said to be a moist or green tree; because,
as a green tree is full of juice, so is he of grace and goodness; as
that is flourishing, so was he in the fame of his doctrine and
miracles, in the spread of his Gospel, and in the increase of his
kingdom and interest; and as that is fruitful and useful, so was he in
preaching the Gospel, and healing diseases; and as that is not proper
to be cut down, nor fit fuel for the fire, so he was not deserving of
death, or to be used in the manner he was; the metaphor seems designed
to express the righteousness and innocence of Christ; see ( Ezekiel 20:47 ) ( 24:4
) who was pure in his nature, without sin in his life, harmless in his
conversation, and did no hurt to any man's person or property: his
enemies could find nothing, nor prove any thing against him; nor even
the devil himself, but owned him to be the Holy One of God; and he was
also declared innocent by his judge, the Roman governor: and yet, how
many hard and grievous things were done unto him! He was persecuted in
his infancy, and his life was sought for; he was despised and
reproached by men all his days; he was apprehended as if he had been a
thief, and was bound as a malefactor; and arraigned at the bar of men,
as if he had been the greatest criminal on earth; he was mocked,
buffeted, and spit upon in the palace of the high priest; be was
scourged by Pilate, and misused by his soldiers, who arrayed him with a
scarlet robe, put a crown of thorns on his head, and a reed in his
hand, and in a mock way bowed the knee to him, and saluted him as King
of the Jews; they crucified him between two thieves, and as he hung on
the cross mocked him, and gave him gall and vinegar to drink. To which
may be added, that he was forsaken by his God, and Father, and his
wrath was poured out upon him, as he sustained the persons, and bore
the sins of his people; the curse of the law was executed on him: and
justice drew its sword, and sheathed it in him: and now if all these
things were done to such an useful, holy, harmless, and innocent
person, what shall be done in the dry? by whom wicked men are designed;
who, as dry trees are without juice, so are they destitute of grace and
righteousness, and all that is good, and bring forth no fruit, neither
to God, nor themselves, nor others; but, like dead and withered trees,
are dead in trespasses and sins, and full of all manner of sin, and
rottenness, and impurity; and are deserving to be cut down, and are fit
fuel for the fire of divine wrath and displeasure, both in this, and in
the other world. The wicked Jews that rejected Christ, and crucified
him, are particularly meant; and if such evil things were done by them
to so just a person, what may not be expected will fall on them in
retaliation for such usage? and if the Roman soldiers, under their
encouragement acted such a part to Christ, who had never done them any
injury, what will they not do to these men, when provoked by their
insults and rebellions? and if such things were done to Christ by his
Father, according to the requirement of the law, and the strictness of
divine justice, when he was made sin for his people, though he knew
none, nor committed any himself, what vengeance will fall on them, who
must answer for their sins in their own persons? What devouring flames,
and everlasting burnings, will such dry trees be exposed to, as being
fit for them, and deserving of them? so the children of men are, by the
Jews, in their writings, called, (Myvby Myue) , "dry trees" ; the
Targumist on ( Ezekiel 17:24 ) paraphrases the words thus;
``I
have humbled the kingdom of the nations, which was strong as a green
tree, and I have strengthened the kingdom of the house of Israel, which
was weak as a dry tree.'' It is a common proverb with the Jews;
``two
dry sticks, or brands, and one green, the dry burn up the green:''
intimating, that a few righteous persons among wicked men suffer with
them; but if righteous men suffer, how much more the wicked? see ( 1
Peter 4:17 1 Peter 4:18 ) .
And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
And
the LORD God said , Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know
good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of
the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
So
he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden
Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way
of the tree of life.
When
thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take
it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against
them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down
(for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege:
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life,
which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month:
and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.
And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.
All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.
For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came , and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith , Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing .
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
Saying , Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

Bereshit “In the Beginning”
English---- In the beginning God created heaven and earth
Hebrew----Bereshit bara Elohim et hashamayim ve'et ha'arets
Genesis -Bereshit is the first portion of the Torah and contains within it the entire biblical story. Everything from the very creation of the universe to the return of Messiah and the restored world to come are illuminated within the numerous stories and revelations of the Bible. In the Torah portion Bereshit we shall not only see the things of old concerning the beginning of time, but we shall see shadow pictures of things yet to come.
(see also Bible study for more information on “In The Beginning”)
But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: .
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Palm Sunday Luke 19: 36-38
36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.

Commentaries on : TREE of LIFE, WATER of LIFE, RIVER of LIFE
TREE of LIFE
Stood also in the midst of the garden of Eden ( Genesis 2:9; 3:22 ). Some writers have advanced the opinion that this tree had some secret virtue, which was fitted to preserve life. Probably the lesson conveyed was that life was to be sought by man, not in himself or in his own power, but from without, from Him who is emphatically the Life ( John 1:4 ; 14:6 ).
She [is] a tree of life Or "lives"; so Christ is called, ( Revelation 2:7 ) ( Revelation 22:2Revelation 22:14 ); in allusion to the tree of life in the garden of Eden, ( Genesis 2:9 ) ; he being the author of life, natural, spiritual, and eternal; which souls may come at, and pluck and eat of the fruit which is upon him in great plenty and variety, even all the blessings of grace and glory; to them that lay hold upon her; which is expressive of an act of faith on Christ, ( Hebrews 6:18 ); faith lays hold on the person of Christ as a Saviour, and will have him and no other; it comes to the blood of Christ, and deals with it for pardon and purification; it lays hold on his skirt, who is a Jew, on the robe of his righteousness, and puts it on; it lays hold on his strength, and goes forth in it, in the exercise of grace and discharge of duty; it lays hold on his covenant, the blessings and promises of it, and takes them to itself: and this act supposes danger without him, safety in him, a view of suitable provisions for food and clothing with him; some strength of grace, and some degree of resolution; also condescension on Christ's part to suffer himself to be handled by them; and likewise that he first took hold on them and brought them out of a state of nature to himself: great encouragement there is for sensible sinners to lay hold on Christ; he is set before them in the Gospel to be laid hold on; he never discourages any from so doing, nor casts out any that come to him; he is able to bear the stress of their salvation they lay upon him; multitudes of lost sinners have been saved by him: and he is a tree of life, as the text says, to such persons; they have spiritual life, and the support and comfort of it, from him now, and may expect everlasting life from him hereafter; and happy [is everyone] that retaineth her; or "holds her fast"; see ( Song of Solomon 3:4 ) ( Genesis 32:26 ); as such may be said to do who constantly apply to him for fresh communications of grace; who walk on in him as they have received him, and hold fast the profession of their faith in him. The phrase is expressive of great affection to him, and strong faith in him; faith keeps its hold of Christ through great darkness and many difficulties; oftentimes the soul walks in darkness, and yet stays itself on Christ, and, Abraham-like, believes in hope against hope. Faith is sometimes very low, and yet lets not go its hold; it fails not, through the prevalent intercession of Christ; it cannot so let go its hold as that there is a parting; a partial departing there may be, but not a total one: however, it is sometimes very difficult for faith to keep fast hold of the Redeemer; it is for the honour and comfort of believers so to do; and it is their mercy that interest in Christ, and salvation by him, do not depend on acts of faith; for, though "we believe not, [yet] he abides faithful", ( 2 Timothy 2:13 ); nevertheless happy are they that retain him, or are steadfast in their faith on him; they have much communion with him now, and shall live with him for evermore hereafter.
REVELATION of JOHN
Chapter 22 : 1,2
1, 2. And he shewed me a pure river of water of life. A symbol of the eternal life flowing from the Son of God as a fountain, which has been bestowed upon all who dwell in the heavenly city. It is the river of life that runs in the street. On each side of the river, watered by it, stands the tree of life . . . yielding its fruit every month. The thought is that it is always fruitful, not limited to certain seasons of fruit bearing. The leaves of the tree were for the healing, etc. We are not to conclude that there were diseases to be healed, but that in the city were the means which banished disease and death. The student cannot fail to trace the correspondence with the home of the sinless race in Eden. There was there "a river that went out of Eden to water the garden." Here there is a river, "bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb." There was a tree of life in Paradise. In the New Jerusalem, on either side of the river stands the tree of life bearing twelve manner of fruits, or rather fruit twelve times a year, every month. The river and the tree are symbols of the life bestowed by the grace of God. The river flows from the throne of God and the Lamb; from the fountain whence life and immortality come. The tree yields its fruit at all times, so that the supply never fails. Everything about the tree is healthful. Even the leaves are for the healing of the nations. There is a book, a river and a tree of life. Christ is the life, and all refer in some way to Christ. Trees and rivers presented most attractive features in an oriental city, and are beautiful emblems of the full supplies of life, grace and bliss that shall pervade the heavenly city.
Luke 23:31 For if they do these things in a green tree
Or it may be rendered impersonally, "if these things are done in a green tree"; by which is meant the Lord Jesus Christ, who is often compared to a tree, as to a green fir tree, an apple tree, a vine, and is called the tree of life: and may be said to be a moist or green tree; because, as a green tree is full of juice, so is he of grace and goodness; as that is flourishing, so was he in the fame of his doctrine and miracles, in the spread of his Gospel, and in the increase of his kingdom and interest; and as that is fruitful and useful, so was he in preaching the Gospel, and healing diseases; and as that is not proper to be cut down, nor fit fuel for the fire, so he was not deserving of death, or to be used in the manner he was; the metaphor seems designed to express the righteousness and innocence of Christ; see ( Ezekiel 20:47 ) ( 24:4 ) who was pure in his nature, without sin in his life, harmless in his conversation, and did no hurt to any man's person or property: his enemies could find nothing, nor prove any thing against him; nor even the devil himself, but owned him to be the Holy One of God; and he was also declared innocent by his judge, the Roman governor: and yet, how many hard and grievous things were done unto him! He was persecuted in his infancy, and his life was sought for; he was despised and reproached by men all his days; he was apprehended as if he had been a thief, and was bound as a malefactor; and arraigned at the bar of men, as if he had been the greatest criminal on earth; he was mocked, buffeted, and spit upon in the palace of the high priest; be was scourged by Pilate, and misused by his soldiers, who arrayed him with a scarlet robe, put a crown of thorns on his head, and a reed in his hand, and in a mock way bowed the knee to him, and saluted him as King of the Jews; they crucified him between two thieves, and as he hung on the cross mocked him, and gave him gall and vinegar to drink. To which may be added, that he was forsaken by his God, and Father, and his wrath was poured out upon him, as he sustained the persons, and bore the sins of his people; the curse of the law was executed on him: and justice drew its sword, and sheathed it in him: and now if all these things were done to such an useful, holy, harmless, and innocent person, what shall be done in the dry? by whom wicked men are designed; who, as dry trees are without juice, so are they destitute of grace and righteousness, and all that is good, and bring forth no fruit, neither to God, nor themselves, nor others; but, like dead and withered trees, are dead in trespasses and sins, and full of all manner of sin, and rottenness, and impurity; and are deserving to be cut down, and are fit fuel for the fire of divine wrath and displeasure, both in this, and in the other world. The wicked Jews that rejected Christ, and crucified him, are particularly meant; and if such evil things were done by them to so just a person, what may not be expected will fall on them in retaliation for such usage? and if the Roman soldiers, under their encouragement acted such a part to Christ, who had never done them any injury, what will they not do to these men, when provoked by their insults and rebellions? and if such things were done to Christ by his Father, according to the requirement of the law, and the strictness of divine justice, when he was made sin for his people, though he knew none, nor committed any himself, what vengeance will fall on them, who must answer for their sins in their own persons? What devouring flames, and everlasting burnings, will such dry trees be exposed to, as being fit for them, and deserving of them? so the children of men are, by the Jews, in their writings, called, (Myvby Myue) , "dry trees" ; the Targumist on ( Ezekiel 17:24 ) paraphrases the words thus;
``I have humbled the kingdom of the nations, which was strong as a green tree, and I have strengthened the kingdom of the house of Israel, which was weak as a dry tree.'' It is a common proverb with the Jews;
``two dry sticks, or brands, and one green, the dry burn up the green:'' intimating, that a few righteous persons among wicked men suffer with them; but if righteous men suffer, how much more the wicked? see ( 1 Peter 4:171 Peter 4:18 ) .
And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
And the LORD God said , Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege:
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones .
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT---- LOVE GOD THE SECOND GREATEST-----------LOVE OTHERS
Life is all about love. God is love (1John 4:16). We need to focus on Jesus alone (Matt.17:8). To make him the center of our attention and love, then we are gradually and continuously changed into the likeness of Christ. It is in loving we are most like him. God wants us to learn how to love, but we need to receive his love first. 1 Corth. 2:12 says,” Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God”. Romans 8:27 say “ and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God”. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose", as in Romans 8:28. "Wherefore receive ye one to another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God", as in Romans 15:7. Love should be our top priority, our greatest aim. In 2 John 6, the Bible says “and this is love, that we walk after his commandments”. Romans 13:8 says, “Owe no man anything, but to love another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law”. GOD will evaluate us on our love. As Mathew 25:40 says, “and the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. "Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares", as say Hebrews 13:1-2. Also don’t judge one another as Romans 14:13 says,"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you". "And if possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men", says Romans 12 ;18 "Now the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in believing, that ye may be bound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost" (SPIRIT) as says Romans 15:13 . Now knowing all this, we all should wake every morning spend time loving GOD,then loving others-because that’s what life is about.

The word faith occures 231 times in the KJV Bible.
The O.T. only 2 times. The N.T 229 times.
A. The word faith in Greek means Teleiotes (tel-i-o-tace) the one who has in his own person raised faith to its perfection and so set before us the highest example of faith.
B. The word in Hebrew means Mowpheth (mo-faith) to wonder, sign, miracle, portent wonder (as a special display of God's power) sign, token (of future event)
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith.
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

THE GREATESTCOMMANDMENT—LOVE GOD THESECOND GREATEST----LOVE OTHERS
Lifeis all about love. God is love (1John 4:16). We need to focus on Jesusalone (Matt.17:8). To make him the center of our attention and love, then we aregradually and continuously changed into the likeness of Christ. It is in lovingwe are most like him. God wants us to learn how to love, but we need to receivehis love first. 1 Corth. 2:12 says,” Now we have received, not the spirit ofthe world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things thatare freely given to us of God”. Romans 8:27 say “ and he that searcheth thehearts knoweth what is the mind of the spirit, because he maketh intercessionfor the saints according to the will of God”. "And we know that all things worktogether for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according tohis purpose", as in Romans 8:28. "Wherefore receive ye one to another, as Christ alsoreceived us to the glory of God", as in Romans 15:7. Love should be our top priority, our greatest aim. In 2 John 6, the Bible says “and this is love, that we walkafter his commandments”. Romans 13:8 says, “Owe no man anything, but to loveanother: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law”. GOD will evaluateus on our love. As Mathew 25:40 says, “and the King shall answer and say untothem, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the leastof my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. "Let brotherly love continue. Be notforgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angelsunawares", as say Hebrews 13:1-2. Also don’t judge one another as Romans 14:13 says,"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as Godfor Christ’s sake hath forgiven you". "And if possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men", says Romans 12 ;18 "Now the God of hopefill you with joy and peace in believing, that ye may be bound in hope, throughthe power of the Holy Ghost" (SPIRIT) as says Romans 15:13 . Nowknowing all this, we all should wake every morning spend time loving GOD,then loving others-because that’s what life is about.
